Easter at the Salem Campus
Our Salem community enjoyed egg dying and an egg hunt, with our case management team playing the part of the Easter bunny!
Free Haircuts at the Grace Center
Two local Gloucester barbers spent 2 1/2 hours cutting hair and trimming beards for 14 Grace Center guests.
"It is always heartening to observe professionals who don't usually function in a social service context come right in and set to work caring for people," said Frank Freedman, Grace Center program director. "It's a powerful reflection of human connection and community."
A haircut can restore dignity and a sense of self to people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. If you'd like to volunteer a service to our clients and guests, please email Marlene at m.johnson@lifebridgenorthshore.org.

Spa Day at the Salem Campus
Salem shelter residents enjoyed a special spa day to relax, unwind, and connect. Participants enjoyed foot, hand, face, eye and lip masks, nail polish, relaxing music, and snack. Special thanks to yoga teacher Hannah Colbert who led two group activities: mixing oil combinations we liked into takeaway containers and a short meditation at the end of the session.
Our main campus in Salem provides dedicated program space to shelter residents for moments like these. Other programs include movie days, art therapy, and case management. The safe space is an important part of the recovery process, providing dignity, stability, and community during this tumultuous time in their lives.
BINGO at River House
BINGO! The residents at River House played to win gift cards. First place won $20, second and third place won $15, and fourth and fifth place won $10. These fun, easy games are a great way to build comradery and friendships at the shelter. Thank you to the students of Malden Catholic School for stopping by River House! They participated during daily chore time and then played bingo with the clients. We love seeing young people involved in their community!
Celebrations at River House
We had lots to celebrate at River House in August, so we threw a party! One client celebrated a birthday. We hope your special day was filled with happiness, laughter, and wonderful memories.
Another client celebrated getting housing! We are so happy for you as you begin this exciting chapter in your new home. Wishing you happiness success, and many beautiful memories ahead.

Community Clean Up at the Salem Campus
Clients at our Salem campus donned safety vests, trash bags, and litter pickers for a community clean up event this month. Together, they spent the day making the neighborhood a little more beautiful and enjoyed a pizza party afterward.
