Salem Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the success and persistence of Salem’s community with the 2020 Salem Chamber Champions Awards. Lifebridge North Shore is nominated for the Community Service Award for outstanding community service and volunteer participation during the pandemic.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lifebridge is dedicated to serving the men and women who depend on us:

  • We changed our Community Meals Program for those living in the shelter and offering “to-go” meals to those living on the street.
  • We opened Grace Center Salem, our day resource center, five days a week (was formerly three days) to help those in need of a safe environment when staying outside. The day center provides basic things from a meal, restroom, and personal care items. We also offer case management and resources to connect guests for employment, health issues, identification.
  • Lifebridge was an integral part of setting up a temporary quarantine site for the region’s homeless population at the Salem High School field house in Spring 2020. The site was for homeless members of our community who could not properly quarantine.
  • We served as both a testing and vaccination site.

The awards will be announced at the Salem Chamber Holiday Breakfast on December 9, 2021, at the Hawthorne Hotel.
