Lifebridge Board Member Named as One of the Five Honorees for the 2022 Reverend Peter Gomes Award
12-08-2022The Office of Congressman Seth Moulton selected our Board Member, Lyn Freeman as one of the 5 honorees for the 2022 Reverend Peter Gomes Award. This award is given annually to the individual in the Sixth District who best epitomizes the qualities of integrity, compassion, and commitment to community that were the foundation of the late Reverend Professor Peter J. Gomes’ teachings. Reverend Gomes was Seth’s mentor and friend. One of his core teachings is embodied by this quote from his writing: “The very definition of service is to love our neighbors as ourselves, work for peace and not for war, and remember that the only hands on earth to do the work of service are our own.”
Lyn Freeman has tireless dedication and commitment to helping the homeless. Her work with Lifebridge North Shore started over 20 years ago with bringing holiday gift bags to clients and serving dinner in the Community Meals Program. She is currently on the Board of Directors and leads Lifebridge’s A Night To Remember fundraiser where all proceeds support work focused on case management and programmatic offerings.
