Heroic Efforts by Lifebridge Staff During February Blizzard

02-24-2026

We want to express our deepest gratitude for the extraordinary dedication our staff showed during this latest blizzard. Because of their efforts, every one of our sites remained open, fully functional, and most importantly, safe for our guests.

To highlight some of the efforts that kept us running:

  • Frank, Program Director at the Grace Center in Gloucester: Who literally walked to work to ensure the Grace Center stayed open.
  • Mike, Salem Day Center & Street Outreach Programs Manager: For his quick thinking in keeping the Salem Transition Center open, sparing our guests with mobility impairments from having to navigate dangerous conditions.
  • Sallena, Kitchen Manager: Who despite kitchen group cancellations, shifted her entire schedule to ensure hot meals were ready and available for everyone.
  • The Case Management Team and Chelsey, Director of Programs: Who braved long commutes and found creative ways to get on site so that our supportive services never stopped.
  • Gil, Facility Manager and Christopher: Who worked tirelessly on snow removal while simultaneously coordinating food transportation.
  • Jeron, Director of Community-Based Case Management: Who jumped seamlessly between operations and snow removal while supporting his team to keep the Day Center/Warming Center fully staffed and operational.

“This is exactly why we do what we do,” said Kristina Holmes, Chief of Staff. “It’s one thing to have a mission statement on paper, but it is another to see it in action through people who refuse to let a storm get in the way of care.”

To everyone who jumped in, shifted gears, and kept our people warm, safe, and alive: Thank you! We are able to provide these services because we have a team that shows up when it matters most.
