Giving Teens the Tools to Change Their World
04-16-2026
While high schools students may be passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity, they may not know how to get started. In Massachusetts, 1 in 3 students face food insecurity and over 33,000 were housing insecure or homeless during the 2024-2025 school year. As the number of young people experiencing these struggles grows, it becomes more essential to provide resources and tackle stigma in peer groups.
Lindsay and George spoke at a Danvers High School assembly last week about what causes homelessness, how Lifebridge supports people on their journeys back to stability and safety, and how they can make a difference in their communities, their friend groups, and their own lives. This assembly is the first part of a project started by Danvers High Civics students. The next phase will be an items drive for Lifebridge that places donations boxes at local businesses all around Danvers.
Thank you to the students, teachers and staff that made this amazing assembly happen! Your questions were wonderful and you made us feel so welcome.
