Meatballs & the Dependable Volunteers That Serve Them
09-08-2025One of the most popular donated items from these groups is meatballs, with a community of over 100 people who participate in the making, transporting, and serving of this delicious and adaptable food. Filling, easy to make in bulk, and packed with flavor and protein, meatballs are a common staple at Lifebridge community meals.
Churches, companies, schools, and other organizations reliably show up for our guests and kitchen staff.
We are grateful for our many one-time volunteers, but our kitchens could not operate without the reliable support of those who return every week, month, or quarter. Lifebridge has benefited from many organizations’ long-time involvement in community meals, receiving meatballs that are transformed into pasta, sandwiches, calzones and more.
St. Peter’s Fiesta at the Grace Center
St. Peter’s Fiesta is a Gloucester festival of Italian and Sicilian heritage that the Grace Center celebrates thanks to Dana DeCaro, a long-time volunteer at Lifebridge. DeCaro comes to the Grace Center every Wednesday morning and his specialty, meatballs, are such a favorite from these events that he often makes them several times a year.
It’s Never Too Late to Get Involved
