Summer Fundraising Opportunities & Ideas

July 10, 2019

If your church, summer school, sports team, or community is looking for a summer fundraising idea, consider donating your proceeds to help the homeless community of the North Shore. You may also consider hosting a party where donated items are shared in lieu of gifts. Donating and giving back is a great way to do your part and help out with your social responsibility. There are some great fundraiser ideas you can come up with that are centric to your organization. Read through this list of summer fundraising ideas that you could start planning today.

Food & Clothing Drive

When you have a drive collection for a fundraiser, you can donate proceeds to The Lifebridge Thrift Shop. We welcome donations of furniture, clothing, art, household items, and books (we do not accept children’s items). When you’re ready to drop off your donations, stop by the Thrift Shop Monday through Saturday (until 12 Noon on Saturday) at 47 Canal Street, Salem.

Stuff-A-Bag Fundraiser

Create a fundraiser that involves stuffing a bag of essentials for someone in need. Each person donating can bring their bag to you, and you can bring all of the bags to Lifebridge. Ask for items such as toothpaste, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, feminine products, laundry pods, combs, band-aids, and icy hot patches. These stuff-a-bag fundraisers are always a huge hit.

Donate Food to Our Community Meals Program

If you collect food during your fundraiser, or have food left over from fundraiser of some sort, you can donate to our kitchen. When you deliver goods, this helps us cook lunch for that day, and helps us prepare for future meals. Donated food and goods goes a long way in our kitchen!

Here are some things you can donate: milk, coffee, peanut butter, sugar, butter, cheese, salad dressing, olive oil, canola oil, fruits and veggies, chicken, fish, beef, pork, and other proteins.

Other Items That Are Frequently Needed:

Socks, Underwear, Clorox antibacterial wipes, reusable laundry bags and water bottles, powder laundry detergent, Advil/ibuprofen, hair ties, face wash, and body wash.

If you have a fundraiser calling for these essential items, Lifebridge is the best place to donate to those in need on the North Shore. Bring donation items to our Lifebridge Thrift Shop, or Community Meals kitchen at our Seeds of Hope or Grace Center locations. If you’re looking to volunteer at any of our locations, check out our website for available opportunities.
